site; after changes Google made in August 2017, nothing is visible in a typical Youtube page without running
its nonfree Javascript code.

However, it is ok to refer to the same videos on an offshoot of invidio.us; just make sure not to
choose one that is "protected" by Cloudflare, since that sends its own nonfree software. This way of
referring is probably fail-safe: it may cease to work, but it will probably not start leading people to
run nonfree software. You don't need a special "platform" to post an audio or video on the Web. You can
post an audio or video file on any web site. Just put up the WebM file and link to it as if it were an
ordinary page. All graphical browsers can handle that.
- Hard drives have direct memory access, but your internet connection doesn't. This means that when you watch a video from the internet in your browser, the CPU has to handle the data transfer, as well as encryption and decryption, leading to lower performance and increased electricity consumption, especially since all sites with videos on them use HTTPS.
- Whenever you watch a video online, the server on which it's stored, as well as all the other servers and routers involved in transferring the file to you need extra energy to perform this task.
- If you have a metered internet connection, you will obviously save a lot of bandwidth if you watch the video from the hard drive.
- Browsers are not optimised for playing videos, so you will get much better performance and energy efficiency if you use a specialised program.

Les rois du monde vivent au sommet.
Ils ont la plus belle vue, mais y'a un mais:
Ils ne savent pas ce qu'on pense d'eux en bas,
Ils ne savent pas qu'ici c'est nous les rois.
Les rois du monde font tout ce qu'ils veulent,
Ils ont du monde autour d'eux mais ils sont seuls,
Dans leurs châteaux là-haut ils s'ennuient
Pendant qu'en bas nous on danse toute la nuit.
Nous on fait l'amour, on vit la vie,

A quoi ça sert d'être sur la terre
