site; after changes Google made in August 2017, nothing is visible in a typical Youtube page without running
its nonfree Javascript code.

However, it is ok to refer to the same videos on an offshoot of invidio.us; just make sure not to
choose one that is "protected" by Cloudflare, since that sends its own nonfree software. This way of
referring is probably fail-safe: it may cease to work, but it will probably not start leading people to
run nonfree software. You don't need a special "platform" to post an audio or video on the Web. You can
post an audio or video file on any web site. Just put up the WebM file and link to it as if it were an
ordinary page. All graphical browsers can handle that.
- Hard drives have direct memory access, but your internet connection doesn't. This means that when you watch a video from the internet in your browser, the CPU has to handle the data transfer, as well as encryption and decryption, leading to lower performance and increased electricity consumption, especially since all sites with videos on them use HTTPS.
- Whenever you watch a video online, the server on which it's stored, as well as all the other servers and routers involved in transferring the file to you need extra energy to perform this task.
- If you have a metered internet connection, you will obviously save a lot of bandwidth if you watch the video from the hard drive.
- Browsers are not optimised for playing videos, so you will get much better performance and energy efficiency if you use a specialised program.

Education is shut, police are corrupt,
intelligence is shunned and ignorance rewarded.
The people are depressed and angry.
We can't live with each other and we can't live with ourselves,
so everyone's medicated.
We pass each other on the streets and if we do speak,
it's meaningless robotic communication, robotic communication.
More people want fifteen seconds of fame than a lifetime of meaning and purpose,
because what's popular is more important than what's right,
ratings are more important than truth.
The world is coming to an end and the path towards a new beginning
starts within you.

Race is still an issue and so is religion.
Your god doesn't exist.

Even words argue to death.
Government bills - twice as many, prisons in schools.

Presidents lie, politicians trick us,
everybody knows everything and everybody's going somewhere,
ignoring someone, blaming somebody.

Technology is giving us everything we could ever want,
and at the same time's stolen everything that we really need.
Corporations tell us: "Buy, buy, buy,
get this, get that, you must keep up, you must fit in."
This will make you happy, but it never does for long.
So what can we do in the face of all this madness?
What's the solution?
